Make Your Will Month
Taking place on 1st-31st May 2025, Make Your Will Month sees us team up with solicitors across Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion. During May, the solicitors waive their usual fee to help our supporters make or update their will in exchange for a donation to our charity.
Why take part?
Make Your Will Month is a great opportunity to write or update your will at a greatly reduced cost. It’s also a chance for you to ensure that the people you love, and the charities you support, are remembered in your will.
Legacy gifts make up a third of our overall income, so without gifts in wills, our work across the health board would simply not be possible.
How to take part
To take part in Make Your Will Month, please follow these simple steps:
- First, please click here and fill in our application form. The form includes a link to our Enthuse page where you can make your donation (please remember to click ‘payment made’ before submitting the form).
We ask for a minimum donation of £110 for a single will and £195 for a mirror will. These are heavily reduced rates compared to a normal will appointment.
- We will then email you to confirm that your payment has been made. We will also inform you of your nearest participating solicitor, and we will inform the solicitor that you have paid and will be contacting them.
- You can now contact the solicitor to make your appointment.
The difference you make
A common misconception is that a legacy has to be an enormous sum of money. This is not the case. No matter how small or how large your gift you can be sure it will make a difference to our work.
Even a donation of 1% of your estate made to Hywel Dda Health Charities will make a big difference in providing services and activities above and beyond what the NHS can normally provide.
Our charity raises and distributes funds to enhance our local NHS services through:
- Offering additional patient comforts to make time spent in hospital more comfortable
- Providing the most up-to-date medical equipment for diagnosis and treatment
- Creating more welcoming surroundings for patients, their families and staff
- Supporting staff learning and development and wellbeing initiatives
- Enhancing care in our local communities
- Delivering healthy living and health promotion initiatives.
