Above: Oil 4 Wales staff join ambassadors Steff Evans and Sam Costelow from Scarlets Rugby to deliver some wonderful Christmas gifts to the children on Cilgerran Ward in Glangwili Hospital. The gifts were collected during their Christmas Toy Appeal which supported children's services across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.

Workplace giving scheme
Small change becomes big change with Microhive!
The scheme takes the odd pennies from employees’ monthly salary and donates these on their behalf to charity.
As an example, if an employee earned £895.38 and if they have opted into the scheme, the 38p would be donated to the nominated charity. The minimum monthly donation would be 1p and the maximum monthly donation would be 99p.

Charity of the year partnership
LHP Accountants chose Hywel Dda Health Charities as its charity of the year to raise funds for the Special Baby Care Unit and Chemotherapy Unit at Glangwili Hospital in memory of their much-loved colleague Elin. Staff organised a range of fundraising events throughout the year, including a Golf Day, raffle, sponsored cycle and football game.
LHP’s Directors said: "Fundraising in memory of our colleague, Elin, has been a very special way for us to celebrate her life and remember the contribution she made to our team. We would like to thank Hywel Dda Health Charities for the encouragement and support they have provided throughout. Knowing that the funds raised will benefit patients, families and staff across the Chemotherapy Unit and the Special Care Baby Unit in Glangwili has given even greater meaning to our efforts, and we are proud to play a small part in supporting this vital work."
Campaign partnerships
By supporting our Wish Fund campaign, Scarlets Rugby help us raise funds for unforgettable experiences for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, enabling local families to create precious memories together during incredibly challenging times. Scarlets’ Wales international Gareth Davies said: “We are delighted to be a part of the Wish Fund campaign and hopefully we can help make a real difference to families across mid and west Wales.”
Engaging customers
Dunelm Carmarthen’s Delivering Joy campaign saw generous customers donate gifts to children and young people receiving care over the Christmas period. Their Christmas tree was hung with charity tags, with each one describing a present wished for by a young patient. It was a great way to engage customers in a good cause, and we received hundreds of fantastic gifts which brought many smiles to our young patients’ faces!
Sending a thank you
Family members and colleagues of Alun Rees Thomas, owner of A&B Tool Hire, raised over nine thousand pounds in his memory after he sadly passed away. The funds were raised through a range of fundraising events such as a raffle at the Royal Welsh Show and their annual tractor run - a wonderful team effort to deliver a thank you for the excellent care Alun received at Prince Philip Hospital’s chemotherapy unit.
Getting creative
Gavin Griffiths Group’s Fill a Skip campaign saw the company collecting an incredible number of gifts for the children at Glangwili Hospital – and then delivering a skipfull! The delivery brought a huge amount of joy to the young patients and received a fantastic response on social media with its novel and news-worthy imagery.
Funding important projects
Our Tonic Surf Therapy initiative received £1,500 from the Tesco Stronger Starts Grant, enabling children and young people aged 14–25 could join weekly surf therapy sessions delivered by Tonic Surf and Walkin’ on Water Surf School, in partnership with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). The 10-week course had a hugely positive impact on the mental health and wellbeing of the participants and demonstrated Tesco’s commitment to supporting its local community.
Gifts in kind
Princes Gate Water have kindly donated bottles of water for our fab fundraisers taking part in Long Course Weekend Wales events, keeping them hydrated during their fundraising challenges.
