On 15th June 2024, Julian took part in the Race to the King Ultramarathon.
Julian said: “I live with my family in Rhydargaeau which is a small village four miles north of Carmarthen and I work for Carmarthenshire County Council in the Communities
Department, as a Housing Property Contracts and Commissioning Manager. I have three children aged 19, 17 and 13. I’m a member of the TROTS running club in St Clears.
“I decided to raise funds as my aunty and close work colleagues have received amazing treatment from the Breast Care Unit at Prince Philip Hospital.
“I have been overwhelmed by the generous donations I have received. People have been so kind, I really appreciate their support. I originally set a fundraising target of £500 and managed this within a few weeks. It’s been fantastic to support such a worthy charity and raise awareness of the great work undertaken by the Peony Breast Care Unit. It’s been such a rewarding experience and I can’t thank everyone enough for their amazing support.”
Nicola Llewellyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, said: “We’d like to say a massive well done to Julian for taking part in this incredible challenge for the Breast Care Unit.
“The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
