Charity purchases walking frames for Bronglais Hospital

Thanks to your donations, Hywel Dda Health Charities has purchased six walking frames for use by patients on Rhiannon ward at Bronglais Hospital.

Mari Davies, Lead Physiotherapist for the Acute and Community Physio Team in Ceredigion, said: “The walking aids are used by patients to reduce the risk of falls and promote mobility.

“The frames help post-operative surgical patients and orthopaedic patients to get up and increase their independence, helping with a quicker discharge home.”

Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”

Pictured with one of the frames is Wendy Mattick, Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner.
