The Hywel Dda Community Clinics Team celebrated one year at South Pembrokeshire Hospital by organising a raffle and fundraising event.

The Community Clinics Team is part of the broader network of community health services that aim to bring healthcare closer to where people live, especially in rural and semi-rural areas.

The fundraiser and celebration were held on 11th June 2025. A fantastic £872.25 was raised for the service.

Sarah Batty, Team Leader, said: “The team celebrated their first-year anniversary in South Pembrokeshire Hospital, as well as marking the National Legs Matter Awareness Week.

“The team organised a large social and wellbeing event, inviting past and present patients, and other NHS services and Third sector organisations, who showcased all the wonderful services that they can offer our patients to help them keep well and improve their health and wellbeing.

“An abundance of homemade cakes, tea and coffee were flowing throughout the day, accompanied by live music and even a visit by the Pembroke Dock Mayor. A large raffle was held and we raised a grand total of £872.25.

“There was a large turnout of patients from all around the county. New friendships were forged, referrals to other services were made and the feedback from both stand holders and patients was wonderful.”

Katie Hancock, Fundraising Officer, said: “We’d like to say a massive thank you to the Community Clinics Team for organising such a fantastic fundraiser.

“The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
