Siblings get ready to walk from Cardiff to Drefach for charity

Lowri and Aled have also organised a charity gig which takes place on 30th August in Gwendraeth Drefach Hall. Local band Dros Dro will be performing and there will also be a charity auction.
Part of the proceeds will go toward the Chemotherapy Day Unit at Prince Philip Hospital.
Lowri said: “My brother, Aled, and I will be taking part in a sponsored walk between August 28th - 30th to raise awareness of Myeloma, a condition that has deeply affected our family.
“Our route will take us from the Heath Hospital in Cardiff to Drefach, passing through Singleton Hospital in Swansea and Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli. This journey mirrors the path our Mum took, from harvesting her stem cells at the Heath, to receiving her stem cell transplant in Singleton, and continuing care at the Chemotherapy Day Unit at Prince Philip Hospital.
“We’re raising funds for three incredible charities: Myeloma UK, Hywel Dda Health Charities and the Lymphoma Leukaemia Myeloma Fund Wales. These organisations have supported Mum with outstanding care, and they continue to help so many others.
“This journey is incredibly close to our hearts. We hope to raise both awareness and vital funds to support others affected by Myeloma. Thank you for your kindness, support, and for helping us give back to those who have given so much.”
Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “We would like to say a huge thank you and good luck to Lowri and Aled for taking on this challenge.
