Two sisters have raised over £2,000 for Bronglais Hospital, by putting on an event in memory of a loved one.
Sisters Beca and Mali James raised a total of £2,061.90 in memory of their aunt, Peta Romaine, through a coffee morning that was held in September 2025. The proceeds from the coffee morning were donated to the Colorectal Unit at Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth.
Beca and Mali said they wanted to give back to the ward because of the “excellent care” their aunt received while undergoing cancer treatment.
“We organised a coffee morning in remembrance of our aunty Peta Romaine,” the sisters added. “We would like to thank Nerys Thomas and the team for all their support. Peta received excellent care.”
Paige Denyer, fundraising support officer at Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said:
“Thank you to Beca and Mali for their wonderful efforts in raising over £2,000 for the Colorectal Unit at Bronglais Hospital.
“We are very grateful for every donation we receive. Support from our local communities enables us to provide services above and beyond what the NHS can provide in Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion.”
