A theatre group from Llanelli has donated proceeds from its Christmas pantomime to a Carmarthenshire hospital.

The Friendship Theatre Group, which performs in Ffwrnes Theatre, Llanelli, has raised over £250,000 for local charities and organisations since it first began in 1993.

Sales from Sleeping Beauty, last year’s show, amounted to £500 – which was given to Prince Philip Hospital’s Ward 7.

A spokesperson for the group said they were “proud” to be able to support the cause.

The spokesperson added: “We are delighted that the Friendship Theatre Group were able to donate £500 from last year’s production of Sleeping Beauty to Hywel Dda Health Charities, Ward 7 Prince Philip Hospital, to support the invaluable work your organisation carries out within our community. We are proud to be able to contribute to the difference you make in people’s lives.”

Claire Rumble, Hywel Dda Health Charities Fundraising Officer, attended the cheque presentation evening at the theatre group’s latest show, Cinderella.

She said: “Thank you so much for your incredible fundraising efforts on behalf of Hywel Dda Health Charities. We’re so grateful for each and every donation.

“Diolch yn fawr, you truly are making a difference!”
