Siblings Dai Bunyan and Shirley Morgan, organised a disco, buffet and raffle and raised £1,935 for the Acute Medical Assessment Unit (AMAU) at Prince Philip Hospital.

The charity night took place in May at the Thomas Arms Hotel in Llanelli.

Dai, a personal trainer at Everlast Gym in Llanelli and Shirley, a retired member of staff from the catering team at Prince Philip Hospital, organised the event in memory of their brother, Vincent Bunyan. Vincent was a patient on AMAU and the fundraiser was organised as a thank you for the wonderful care he received there.

Dai and Shirley said: “We would like to thank everyone who attended the event and gave so generously, we are over the moon with the amount that was raised. It’s our first time organising an event like this, it means a lot to us to raise funds in memory of our brother, Vincent, who was so well cared for at AMAU.”

Rebecca Noot, Senior Sister, said “Thank you ever so much to Dai and Shirley for all the work you put in to organise this event and raise a wonderful £1,935 for the Acute Medical Assessment Unit at Prince Philip Hospital. Your generous and kind donation is greatly appreciated by everyone at AMAU.

“We are truly grateful for your kindness and thoughtfulness. We will make good use of your donation here on AMAU.”

Claire Rumble, Fundraising Officer, said: “The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are very grateful for every donation we receive.”

Your donations are making a positive difference to the health, wellbeing and experience of NHS patients, service users and staff.
