Taking place on 19th and 20th June 2026, the Clwb Beicio Cefneithin Cycle Ride will see participants push their limits in support of Hywel Dda University Health Board’s Colorectal Service, helping patients receiving treatment for bowel cancer at Glangwili Hospital and Prince Philip Hospital.
The fundraising effort aims to enhance the care and support provided to individuals and families navigating a bowel cancer diagnosis.
Robert Bonell, from Clwb Beicio Cefneithin, said: “The work carried out by these units is incredibly important to so many families across our communities. The money raised will help support the fantastic care and support provided to patients facing bowel cancer.
“Every mile ridden is to support the incredible work carried out by these hospital teams every single day.
“For more than 21 years, these charity cycle rides have brought people together to support local causes and make a genuine difference within the community.
“Every donation, sponsorship and message of support helps motivate the team as they prepare to take on this challenge and raise as much money as possible for these vital services.”
Claire Rumble, Fundraising Officer, said: “What a fantastic challenge. We wish all those taking part in the cycle a huge good luck. We look forward to hearing all about it!
“The generous charitable donations we receive don’t replace NHS funding. Instead, they are used to provide items and activities above and beyond core NHS expenditure, such as more welcoming surroundings for patients, families and staff, andthe latest equipment.”
