Fundraisers Sam and Gavin Faulkner smashed their running challenge, raising £1,465 for the Cardiac Care Unit at Withybush Hospital.
The couple, who have raised funds for Hywel Dda Health Charities on several occasions over the years, decided to take on another challenge in memory of Sam’s Dad.
Sam and Gavin decided one race wasn’t enough, so they entered the Porthcawl 10k, the Great North Run Half Marathon, Cardiff Half Marathon and the Silverstone Circuit 10k, which took place Sam’s Dad's birthday in the village he grew up in.
Sam said: "I lost my Dad in July 2023 to several heart attacks and have made a personal commitment to doing something to raise money for the Cardiac Care Unit at Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest every year in Dad's memory. Thanks so much for all your support, it means the world to me and my family.”
Katie Hancock, Fundraising Officer, said: “We’d like to say well done to Sam and Gavin for completing this incredible challenge. Thank you so much for dedicating your time to once again raise funds for the Cardiac Care Unit, we are so grateful for your support.”
“The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
