Pupils, parents and staff at Richmond Park School came together and raised £600 for the Chemotherapy Day Unit at Glangwili Hospital.

The fundraising event, which took place on Friday 25th September at the school, was organised by the school's Parent Teacher Association (PTA), in an effort to support local charities and make a positive difference within the community.

The school pupils were incredibly enthusiastic about the fundraiser, taking part in baking activities for the event.

Rianne Morgan, Chair of the PTA, said: “As a PTA, we work closely with the school and families to organise events and activities that bring our school community together while raising money for worthwhile causes.

“We chose to raise money for the Glangwili Chemotherapy Day Unit through Hywel Dda Health Charities because we wanted to support the important work they do for local patients and their families.

“This cause felt particularly meaningful to us because it supports people in our local community who are going through cancer treatment. We felt that involving the whole school would be a wonderful way to come together, raise awareness and make a meaningful contribution.

“The fundraising went really well and was a very positive and rewarding experience. It was lovely to see the whole school community get involved for such an important local cause, with children from every class baking cakes and treats to contribute to the event.

“We were delighted to raise £600 for the unit and would like to thank all of the children, parents and staff who helped make the event such a success.”

Claire Rumble, Fundraising Officer, said: “A huge thank you to Richmond Park School for your fantastic fundraising! It’s great to see our local schools organise fundraising events for their NHS charity.

“The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
