The charity has funded a refurbishment of the unit's staff room, including a new fridge freezer, kitchen cabinets, additional storage, redecoration and new furniture, creating a more comfortable and welcoming environment for staff during their breaks.
Marie Williams, Senior Sister, said: “Having a comfortable space away from the clinical environment is so important for our team. The unit is incredibly busy, and being able to step away, have a break and spend time with colleagues can make a real difference during the working day.
“We are extremely grateful to generous supporters of the charity for having made this possible. The refurbished room has created a much more welcoming environment for staff and will be enjoyed by our team for years to come.”
Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “We are incredibly pleased to have supported staff on the Chemotherapy Day Unit at Prince Philip Hospital by funding these improvements.
“A comfortable and welcoming space where staff can rest and recharge is important, particularly in a busy clinical environment. Supporting the wellbeing of our NHS workforce helps create the conditions for them to continue delivering excellent care to patients.
“The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
