A family from Talgarreg organised a memorial tractor run and raised an incredible £5,927.50 for the Chemotherapy Day Unit at Glangwili Hospital.

Ann, her daughter Heledd and her son Alwyn organised a tractor run from Talgarreg Hall on 12 July 2026 in memory of Adrian Thomas, a much-loved husband to Ann and father to Heledd and Alwyn.

Heledd said: “We lost Dad two years ago to lung cancer. He was having chemotherapy at Glangwili Hospital and the staff were fantastic with him.

“We had 105 tractors on the day and raised an incredible amount of money. We would like to thank everyone who came to the tractor run in memory of my Dad and we would like to thank all the staff at the Chemotherapy Day Unit.”

Jessica Michael, Senior Sister, said: “On behalf of the staff and patients at the Chemotherapy Day Unit at Glangwili Hospital, I would like to thank you for your fundraising efforts resulting a very generous donation of £5,927.50.

“We are always looking at ways to improve the environment and improve the way we care for patients within the Chemotherapy Day Unit. Please be assured that this money will go towards this improvement.”

Claire Rumble, Fundraising Officer, said: “Wow! What an incredible amount raised. Thank you so much for fundraising in memory of Adrian.

“The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
