Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, has funded new outdoor seating at Glangwili Hospital to give doctors, medical students and staff a space to relax, connect and recharge during busy working days.
Three new picnic tables have been installed outside the Medical Education Centre at the hospital, helping to create a dedicated and comfortable outdoor environment for those attending training sessions and working across the site.
Nicky Pearce, Lead Medical Education Manager, said: “Doctors and medical students often spend long hours in high-pressure environments, so having access to a welcoming outdoor space where they can rest and connect with colleagues is incredibly important.
“These picnic tables will make a real difference to the wellbeing of staff and students using the Medical Education Centre and surrounding healthcare facilities. We’re very grateful to Hywel Dda Health Charities’ generous supporters for making this project possible.”
Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “Hywel Dda Health Charities is proud to fund more welcoming surroundings for patients, families and staff.
“The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
