The Rob Pugh Memorial Tractor Run raised a fantastic £1,660 for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Glangwili Hospital.
Rebecca Pugh organised the tractor and vehicle run as well as a raffle to raise the funds in memory of her father, Rob.
Rebecca said: “I did this fundraising for the ICU in memory of my father, Rob Pugh, who at the beginning of December 2019 was rushed to A&E at Glangwili Hospital. He was then
taken to the stroke ward, where he went into cardiac arrest and was rushed to the ICU.
He passed away on 20th February 2020.
“This fundraising is a small token to show our appreciation to all involved in my Dad’s care there.
“The run took place on 13th July. The day was emotional as it would have been my Dad’s 50th birthday. Our family, friends and all that knew him had a great time.
“I’d like to thank all who attended the day and all who have donated, either money or raffle prizes. I’d like to thank Sean Birch who made the memorial bench, Stuart from the Lamb Inn Blaenwaun for the food, Llanwinio Hall committee members for use of the hall, and for allowing my dad’s bench to be placed in Blaenwaun Park, and also everyone that volunteered their time on the day.
“I would especially like to thank my brother, Matthew Pugh, and my Mamgu, Kay Evans, who is in her 70s, for rushing around blocking junctions and crossroads so the tractor and vehicle run could go through with ease. Lastly, I would like to thank my Aunty, Sarah Raymond, for looking after the children so they stayed safe but also felt like they took part on the day.”
Tammy Bowen, Senior Sister, said: “We as a team would like to thank Rebecca for her generous donation. This donation will help support our goals as a unit to be able to support our patients and their relatives during their stay in the ICU.”
Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Rebecca and all who were involved in the memorial tractor run.
“The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
